The Kom carpets represent one of the most refined expressions of Persian art. This sacred city, located about 150 km south of Tehran and 120 km north of Kashan, is renowned not only for its religious significance, but also for the production of carpets of the highest quality, characterized by the use of fine silk.
The manufacture of carpets in Kom originated around 1940, to compensate for the decline of production in Tehran. Kom carpets are distinguished by the intensive use of silk, both to highlight decorative details and to create pieces made entirely of silk, with knot densities that can reach 800,000 knots per square meter.

Kom-Kork carpets are distinguished by the use of natural colors and pastel shades, while other Kom carpets often use bright chemical colors, including:
The sizes of Kom carpets are not standardized, ranging from small sizes up to large formats and runners.
